Never really happy with my site logo, I appreciated the tips in the Blogging 201 exercise on logos. That lead me back to Canva, which now features a ton more information on branding, logos and more. More options, more fun!
Just to stay in the spirit of Blogging U exploration, I’ve added a poll at the end, something I’ve never done before. Vote, comment, whatever – I’d love to hear your thoughts!
A. Here is my original logo. I liked the fun type, but it never quite worked. It does not look like I understood ideal logo size, which is a maximum width of 480 and height of 100-150 pixels for the Zuki theme.
B. My first attempt was to work off my name, Laurel, with a leaf motive. I tried several, this was the only tolerable one.
That is waaaaaay too serious. It also lacks any connection to the reader.
C. I added some benefit copy in the fun Amatic Small Caps font, squeezed between the larger Abril Fatface.
D. Same as C, with a vertical pencil icon added.
E. Same idea, now with a horizontal blue pencil.
F. Oh why not. Let’s try a yellow pencil and switch the font to Shadows Into Light and the typewriter-like Special Elite.
G. Same idea as F, but back to my original benefit copy.
What do you think? Which logo do you think works best? I’d love to hear your thoughts. Either vote on the poll or leave a comment below!
